Greek Minor

Students minoring in Greek earn fifteen credit-hours in the language, acquiring essential grammar, syntax, and vocabulary in a coherent, sequential body of work. This work is completed by a capstone experience: either extended guided practice in writing original Greek (GK301), or practice in reading original Greek texts of great historical importance (GK302). First-year courses (GK101 and GK102) are taught in BAC classrooms, while subsequent course offerings are provided in live, online, synchronous format by BAC’s partner institution, the Veterum Sapientia Institute (VSI).

This minor requires neither a thesis nor passage of a standardized test.

Students entering the program with significant prior coursework in Greek may be permitted to do so at any appropriate point in the 101-202 sequence. Such students must still complete all higher-level requirements, for a minimum total of 9 credit hours earned in courses taken at BAC.

To remain in good standing in the program, students must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 and receive no more than one passing grade below “C” in courses submitted for minor credit.

It is the responsibility of the student to make sure that all minor requirements are fulfilled before expected graduation.
