BI312 Animal Behavior

Why do animals do what they do? This course explores both proximate (e.g. physiological, neurological, etc.) and ultimate (e.g. fitness, evolutionary history) explanations of animal behavior. Topics will include foraging, aggression, social behavior, mate choice, parenting, and others. The lab portion of this course will include discussions of current literature, explanations and examples of quantitative behavioral analysis and the completion of original research projects.
