HS493W Capstone in Human Services
Prerequisites: senior status, permission of chair.
The capstone course is a comprehensive research project in which the student integrates their theoretical and experiential knowledge from across the human services curriculum. Student will identify a human service issue or service gap, research the social, cultural and theoretical reasons for the gap, and discuss potential social, cultural, and theoretical solutions in a formal research paper of approximately 25 pages. Students will make a formal oral presentation their paper to faculty for approval. This course is only offered as a 16-week course.
