Minor in International Relations
The International Relations minor is designed to prepare students for
entry-level careers or graduate-level studies in the fields of Strategy and Policy, Diplomacy,
Security Studies, or International Law. The proposed program of study builds upon a foundation
of Classical theory, the development of Diplomacy in late Medieval Christendom, and the
evolution of the current Westphalian state system. Students will understand and apply recognized
contemporary theories of International Relations: Realism, Rationalism, and Revolutionism.
Students will gain practical skills in data and information collection, analysis and interpretation,
and presentation of topically-formatted products.
Curriculum Requirements
Program Requirements: Students will complete five courses (15 credits), including one
required course (PO 299) and four additional courses.
