BU437 Supply Chain and Logistics

In this course, students will receive a broad introduction to supply chain management, including the basics of logistics and purchasing. Students will come to appreciate the complexity of supply chain management as a strategic competitive tool that is essential to the success of an organization. Throughout this course, students will explore how different areas of supply chain management add value to the economy, to organizations, and to everyday life. We will consider the role of supply chain management in global trade and development and show how companies have applied supply chain concepts to win out over rivals in the marketplace. The basic concepts and contemporary trends taught in this course are a prelude to prepare students for further study of business and participation in a global workforce.
