CJ390 Drugs and Crime

Prerequisites: CJ 201; CJ 300 recommended This course examines the impact that Drugs and Alcohol have on Society and the Criminal Justice System. During the semester, students will be exposed to what motivateds drug taking behavior, the interaction of drugs and crime, as well as understanding the various legal and illegal drugs currently in use. They will also examine the various theories on abuse and addiction, the history of drug use in the United States, and past and current drug control policies, including alternative approaches to control through education, prevention, treatment, and interdiction.
