HO324 Contemporary Philosophy

Prerequisite: HO306 or HO311
In this course students will read great texts of postmodern and contemporary philosophy including Nietzsche Beyond Good and Evil, Frege “On Sense and Reference,” Heidegger Introduction to Metaphysics and “On Plato’s Parable of the Cave,” Foucault The Order of Things, Wittgenstein Philosophical Investigations, Lewis “Counterfactuals,” Anscombe “Intention” and “Modern Moral Philosophy” and “Faith,” Kripke Naming and Necessity.
