NU303 Nursing Care of the Family - Maternity

This course will provide a foundational understanding of the role of the nurse in assessment, health promotion and wellness during pregnancy, birth and the transition to parenthood. Alterations in the status of the childbearing family will be covered. This course will include interactive learning during its didactic component. This course has a clinical component, which will meet on a different day for 8 hours x 5 days to equal 40 clinical hours. Clinical groups and sites will be assigned and given to students prior to the start of class. Students must pass each didactic and clinical component to pass this course.
