TM301 More Seminar Medieval Intellect Trad
A study of Medieval and Renaissance texts that helped to shape the intellectual, cultural, and political world that Thomas More inhabited. Texts include writings from St. Augustine, Boethius, Dante, and Thomas More himself. The course also includes activities drawn from a “Reacting to the Past” game on the Reformation Parliament of Henry VIII's reign, which serves to illustrate the interaction between a humanist, liberal arts education and the practice of politics and statecraft in the early modern world.
