GR203 Intensive Intermediate German

This course will cover two semesters of Modern German grammar and vocabulary at the intermediate level in a single semester and is thus designed for exceptional students seeking rapid language fluency. Comprehension will receive more focus than production, but speaking and writing skills will be honed alongside listening and reading. Course Objectives: 1. By the end of the course, the student will be able to demonstrate a functional knowledge of Modern German grammar (morphology and syntax). 2. By the end of the course, the student will be able to demonstrate an active German vocabulary (semantics). 3. By the end of the course, the student will be able to read and comprehend everyday German with relative ease. 4. By the end of the course, the student will be able to write basic German. 5. By the end of the course, the student will be able to comprehend basic spoken German. 6. By the end of the course, the student will be able to produce basic spoken German with standard pronunciation and prosody (phonology).
