Prerequisite: PH200 or HO202 In this course students will read great texts of modern political and theoretical philosophy including Rousseau The Social Contract, Hume Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding, Kant On Perpetual Peace and Groundwork for the Metaphysic of Morals and Critique of Pure Reason, Burke Reflections on the Revolution in France, Hegel Introduction to the Philosophy of History, Mill On Liberty, Marx The Communist Manifesto.
