TH401 Paul and his Letters

Prerequisite: TH 105 or equivalent Combines a survey of Paul’s life and writings in the context of their first-century environment and the development of early Christianity with sustained exegesis of 1 Corinthians. Problems studied include Paul’s role in the history of Christianity, the relationship between early Christians and Jews, and Paul’s understanding of Christian life and community. Offered as needed.
