BI200 Essentials of Microbiology

Prerequisite: BI 110, CH 103 A study the structure, metabolism, classification, and function of microbes, including viruses, important in human health. Topics include infectious diseases, host-pathogen relationships, and the immune response. There will be a particular emphasis on clinical application of pathogens in the laboratory. (class, three hours; laboratory, two hours per week).
