SO413 Deviance

Prerequisites: SO 201, CJ 201, or PC 201 Two main themes run through this course. The first is an historical and sociological exploration of how the definitions of religious, criminal, and medical deviance have changed. The second places the changing definitions of deviance against the backdrop of rationality and growing rationalization. Offered every other year. Cf. CJ 413.
