B. A. in Accounting
Accounting majors and minors are required to earn a “C” or above in all required Accounting courses, including those transferred in from another institution.
Accounting majors are required to maintain an overall GPA earn overall GPA of 2.75 or better.
The majority of accounting courses taken for the major must be taken at Belmont Abbey College.
Students may only repeat an Accounting course once. If unsuccessful after two attempts, the student may not retake the class a third time and will not be allowed to major in Accounting.
Students that do not earn a C in an Accounting course taken at Belmont Abbey require the permission of the Department Chair to retake the course at another institution.
For a double major in Accounting and Business Management, the requirements for each major must be fulfilled. Accounting and Business double majors may not count Accounting courses towards a Business concentration nor as Business electives.
It is the student’s responsibility to see that all degree requirements for graduation are fulfilled.
NOTE: A “C” average or above in all Accounting courses is required for graduation.

Students pursuing a degree in Accounting are encouraged to take MA208 for the Empirical Reasoning Requirement and EC201 to meet the Social Science requirement. This will provide the student with the opportunity to elect a minor(s) in Accounting.
