EN221 King Arthur Through the Ages

Prerequisite: RH 104 or RH 102 In this course, we will explore the development of the Arthurian legend in Western literature through a selection of texts and films. We will begin with some of the earliest works to mention Arthur and his knights and will progress up to the present day, observing how each people who adopted Arthur as their own or each time period to inherit the story shaped the tradition. In the end, we will discover why so many people have been enchanted by the "Matter of Britain." Counts toward the English and Medieval Studies minors.
