PC360 Social and Cultural Psychology
Prerequisite: PC 201 or permission of the chair or instructor
An examination of psychological theories and research pertaining to group behavior and to the effects of social environments on individual behavior. Particular emphasis will be given to differences between collectivist and individualistic cultures and to how social and cultural differences create difficulties in communication, understanding, and psychological research. Specific topics considered include attribution, social motivation, interpersonal relationships, and prejudice. Offered every year. Cf.
