PO375 History of Western Diplomacy

This course explores the development and evolution of diplomacy and international statecraft in the West from the High Middle Ages through the Modern Era. Focus included exploration and analysis of primary sources relating to St. Thomas Aquinas (Just War Theory), Hugo Grotius (Treaties of Westphalia), and Charles Maurice de Talleyrand (Congress of Vienna). PO 299 Fundamentals in International Relations is a recommended prerequisite, but is not required for this course.
