HI389 Museum Studies: Sisters of Mercy
Museums collect objects, preserve artifacts, and educate audiences through various formats. This course introduces students to the history and theories of museum studies. Topics covered include material culture, museum education, and community engagement. How do we study objects? What type of work occurs at a museum? What do museums of the future look like? Students in the course will produce a small exhibit about the Sisters of Mercy’s nursing history for display on the Sacred Heart Campus to practice these theories and skills.
